RECIPES FOR DIFFERENT DOUGH YOU CAN USE WITH YOUR COOKIE CUTTERS. SOME ARE EDIBLE AND SOME ARE NOT.

EDIBLE RECIPES

Cookie Buckets, Baskets, and Bouquets
Cookie pops can created from edible cookie recipes and make great gifts or table center pieces at parties. If you use long lollipop sticks on your cookies they can be arranged in a bouquet or flower box like how fresh long stem roses are presented.
For cookie pops with shorter stems they can be arranged in a base like a vase of fresh flowers would be. Some ideas for bases are beach pails or other beach toys, tiki glasses, giant shells, lauhala woven baskets, or tropical looking flower pots. Insert Styrofoam into the base then insert the cookies into the foam and arrange. If you will be putting a lot of cookies in an arrangement be sure you have a base big enough to support your cookies. Once the cookies are arranged you can add ribbons, raffia, babys breath, or other items to further decorate if you wish. Craft stores sell Styrofoam and lollipop sticks that you can use for this project.

Basic Sugar Cookie Recipe
6 cups flour
3 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven 350 degrees F for a half hour prior to baking. Cream together sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Add in remaining ingredients well mixed. For best results refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Roll dough out on floured surface about ¼ inch thick and you are ready for the cookie cutters. Arrange cut out sugar cookie shapes on a non-greased  baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes until lightly browned on the outside edges. Decorate once cooled. Yields 6-7 dozen cookies depending on the size of the cutter.
To turn a sugar cookie into a cookie on a stick that can be used in cookie bouquets or cookie arrangements roll out the sugar cookie dough ½ inch and once cut and on the baking sheet add a lollipop stick to each cookie before placing in the oven to bake. These may require 10-13 minutes of baking due to these tend to be thicker cookies. Decorate once cooled.

Basic Cocoa Cookie Dough Recipe
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup almonds finely ground
2 eggs
8 Tablespoons butter softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/3 cups sugar
Preheat oven 350 degrees F for a half hour prior to baking. In one bowl mix together cocoa powder, flour, and almonds. In a larger bowl cream the butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla with an electric beater until fluffy. Add in dry ingredients from the other bowl and well mixed. For best results refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Roll dough out on floured surface about ¼ inch thick and you are ready for the cookie cutters. Arrange cut out cookie shapes on a non-greased  baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned on the outside edges. Decorate once cooled. Yields approx. 2 dozen cookies depending on the size of the cutter.
To turn a cocoa cookie into a cookie on a stick that can be used in cookie bouquets or cookie arrangements roll out the sugar cookie dough ½ inch and once cut and on the baking sheet add a lollipop stick to each cookie before placing in the oven to bake. These may require 20 minutes of baking due to these tend to be thicker cookies. Decorate once cooled.

Created with tube frosting, tube gel frosting, decorating sugar, and melted chocolate

Fancy Cookie Frosting
Cookies can easily be made into works of art with a little frosting and some imagination. You can make as many colors as you want. Start with one drop of food coloring for the lightest color and keep adding drops to make dark colors.
For cooked cooled cookies there is Shiny Fancy Frosting. Combine 1 tablespoon corn syrup with food coloring for each color you want. Use small brush to paint on cooled cookies. Apply only a small amount of color on the brush so you do not soak the cookie. Cookies must be cool to frost. It requires that you let one color dry before adding another color but the results are worth it.
For uncooked cookies you can use Matte Fancy Frosting to create cookies that will be fully decorated as soon as they come out of the oven. Combine 1 egg yolk with 1/4 teaspoon evaporated milk and food coloring. Use small brush to paint on uncooked cookies. Bake cookies at
350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.
